It's ladybug season

I honestly don't remember if it's been like this in years past, but this spring there are ladybugs everywhere! I think I've seen more in the last few weeks than I have my entire life. Jessa absolutely LOVES them!! She wants to go out every day and "play" with the ladybugs. She's actually very gentle and has only squashed a few. :) The other day we "played" with them for quite a while, so I decided it would be a good photo op.

1K

My two older babies ran their first 1K race today. In the last couple years, we've noticed that Nathan enjoys running long distances. Sometimes when we're outside, he'll run around the circle at our apartment complex several times with very little effort. On the other hand, Hannah enjoys the short sprints more. Anyway, we thought we'd enter them into this local race to see how they did and how they liked it. Well, true to form, Nathan loved it! He got a side ache about half way through and had to walk for a little bit, but he loved the overall experience. Hannah.....not so much. :) She finished, which we knew she would, but she was upset because she didn't win(she's WAY too competitive). She'd probably be thrilled to never run a long distance again. :) Anyway, as their mom, I was so proud of them and thought they did great. It was fun watching them.

Easter 09

We had an awesome Easter! On top of celebrating Jesus' resurrection(and it doesn't get any better than that), we were able to spend the whole day with friends and family. Hannah had the opportunity to sing in a girls ensemble at church, and they did great! It was really fun to watch her in that. After church, we joined some friends for Easter dinner and an egg hunt. This was our kids second egg hunt for the weekend, and they raked it in. :) Then we were able to spend the rest of the afternoon/evening with our cousins and also celebrate their youngest daughter's birthday with them. It was a very full day but so much fun! We are truly blessed.

Church picnic fun

Today we had our annual church picnic, but this time they threw in an Easter egg hunt for all the kiddos. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but there were 1300 eggs all over the ground. When they finally let the kids go after them, all 1300 eggs were literally gone in under two minutes! It was crazy but lots of fun to watch. There wasn't any pushing or shoving, just kids running at mock speed trying to get as many eggs as they could. :) The girls had a great time(Nathan couldn't go with us because he's sick).
