A peek at Christmas 2009

We've had a wonderful Christmas this year! Kevin's had the past three days off, and the family time that we've been able to have has been so nice. Two of the three days we stayed in our PJ's all day. :) We were able to have our own little family of five celebration, and then we had another one with my parents. Of course the funnest part was watching our kids open their presents. The looks on their faces were priceless, especially when they opened their big gift, which was a wii. Yes, we've finally entered the wii realm in our home. We knew it would be fun, but I don't think I realized how addicting it really can be. At least we're addicted to it as a family. :)

We were also blessed to attend the candlelight service at our church on Christmas Eve. It was a beautiful reminder of the real reason that we celebrate Christmas. Jesus Christ was born into this world to be our Savior and the Light for us to follow. We are nothing without Him. I hope and pray that your Christmas was full of wonderful and blessed times with family and friends.

Finally!!

It's 12 days until Christmas, and we just now got our tree up and decorated...and it's not even our tree. We threw ours away after last Christmas because it was falling apart and haven't gotten a new one yet. So my parents let us borrow one of theirs. Anyway, at least we have a tree up now. We started a tradition last year that on the evening that we put up and decorate the tree, we have sugar cookies and hot cider. I forgot to get pictures of that part but trust me, it was delicious! :)

"The" Christmas Pageant

This weekend was the bi-annual Christmas pageant that our church hosts. They've been doing this since I was a little girl. It portrays in a very simple and beautiful way how baby Jesus came to be from the angel telling Mary that she would conceive a son that would be the long awaited Messiah to the shepherds and wise men coming to worship Him after His birth. They even have live animals including lambs, goats, doves, a horse for King Herod, a donkey for Mary, and three camels for the wise men. It's quite the production. The extra fun part about this year was that Nathan and Hannah were old enough to be in the children's choir. So they got to be on the stage the entire time. They had a blast, and it was a lot of fun watching them.








I also have to include a couple pictures of Hannah with her new earrings. She got them on the same day as the pageant, which is why she's wearing her costume and makeup.
